National Honor Societies at UCLA
Numerous opportunities are available throughout the year, including the summer. Participation is completely voluntary but highly recommended to those interested in taking advantage of the many benefits of membership. We focus on promoting academics on campus and beyond, giving back through community service, and networking with other exceptional individuals. That's on top of the scholarship opportunities available to members of ALD & PES!
ACADEMICS
Induction & Awards Ceremony
Every spring, we recognize 1st years for their excellent academic achievements. A formal ceremony allows family and friends to witness their student sign the official book and become a lifetime member. Current members are also honored for extraordinary contribution to the societies with awards and scholarships.
On Campus Days
Throughout the quarter, we sit on Bruin Walk and pass out treats to our members to help them get through the school day and offer an easy way to earn points for scholarships. Treats range from candy to coffee and tea. On Campus Days are also a great way to meet officers and learn about upcoming events!
Blue Books and Finals
During finals week we pass out blue books to students, regardless of if they are members or not. We try to provide a bit of relief during a hectic time. Additionally, each blue book contains a message of encouragement.
Scholarships
We pride ourselves in our scholarship program both at the local and national level. Over the past few years we have been able to increase the amount of scholarships we give out each year and hope to continue that tradition. Additionally, our members have won thousands of dollars from both Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma National Boards. Scholarship applications can be found in the Scholarships page.
COMMUNITY
SERVICE
Reading to Kids
The program strives to inspire underserved children so that they are better prepared to succeed in life and enjoy the opportunities that come with an education. On a Saturday of each month, we will go on location to read and make crafts with the students during the morning. Participants will have an option to select the grade level (1st-5th) they would like to work with. For more information, visit their site at www.readingtokids.org.

Enrich LA
This program allows volunteers to help construct or restore gardens at schools and other sites in the LA area. The goal is to provide students with knowledge of gardening and sustainable living to promote a healthier future for them and for the environment. The program also offers volunteers opportunities for hands-on service projects.
NETWORKING
Study Sessions
We hold study sessions around midterms and finals season to provide a quiet space to study and moral support from your peers. We also provide free food!

Westwood Socials
Come out to events located in Westwood! Throughout the quarter, we host events such as going out for dinner, getting dessert, or watching a movie. It's a great way to meet members and officers.
