Local Scholarships

Applications for 2024 Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma are now OPEN!

 All UCLA ALD|PES members are eligible to apply for the local scholarships (2 Distinguished Service Awards worth $1000 each, 4 Academic Awards worth $500 each). These scholarships recognize those students who have attained the highest standards of academic excellence while embodying the ALD|PES values of resilience, compassion, and service.

Applications close April 13, 2024, and the winners will be announced at this year’s Induction Ceremony!

  • TROW:

    • All ALD|PES members who joined between Jan 1st 2022 - Dec 31st 2023 with GPAs 3.5 and above are eligible to apply for the Trow Undergraduate Scholarship, which is worth between $1,000 and $6,000, just make sure to get your applications in by April 1st 2024. 

    • *Application can be found at: 

    • *National deadlines listed on the application website are one week later than our chapter’s actual deadline, so make sure to get your applications in on time! 

  • STUDY ABROAD:

    • ALD|PES members interested in studying abroad next year between May 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025, with GPAs 3.5 and above, can apply for the James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship, which is worth between $1,000 and $2,000, and has to be submitted by March 1st, 2024.

  • $10,000 James E. Foy-John W. Sagabiel Undergraduate Leader Award (1 awarded)

  • $7,000 Distinguished Member Scholarships (37 awarded)

  • $5,000 Undergraduate Student Scholarships 

  • $1,000 Member Scholarships

  • SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS | Phi Eta Sigma

  • *Will be due April 24, 2024 (one week before national deadline of May 1, 2024)

Criteria:

  • High scholastic record with recommended minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (on 4.0 scale)

  • Participation in local chapter activities (POINT SYSTEM!)

  • Evidence of creative ability

  • Potential for success in chosen field. 

Applications for all awards are available through a single common application on the Phi Eta Sigma website, SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS | Phi Eta Sigma. Optional letters of recommendation may be submitted, and each application submitted will be sent to our chapter’s advisor Carissa Requejo for verification of membership and level of activity in the organization.
